Unpub Preview: Scofflaw
One of our upcoming events is Protospiel-Milwaukee (and Mid-West Unpub.) This is not an event I will be able to attend, and it is being managed by James Mathes of Minion Games. Games coming to Protospiel-Milwaukee register through a different entity, and by doing so don’t get a page here on Unpub.net. This is our first time with this type of partnership and we’re testing these policies out. One way we can support the games and designers coming to this event is through these previews. So, today we continue our series of previews of games coming to Protospiel- Milwaukee.
There's a pair of designers behind the game featured in this preview. We've already looked at one game by designer Carl Klutzke(Scrapmech,) this time out he's joined by Scott Starkey for another game that starts with S: Scofflaw!
They took the time to fill out our preview form, so let's hear what they had to say...
What was your inspiration for Scofflaw? Thief: The Dark Project (video game) Magic Realm
What is your favorite part of Scofflaw? Competition versus Cooperation
To your knowledge, What do other people find most interesting about Scofflaw? Satisfying the urge for players' greed
What has been the most challenging part of designing Scofflaw? Not overcomplicating a core simple and fun game.
What advice would you give to players attempting Scofflaw for the first time? When working with other players, try to get them to use more resources than you. If you can ride on another player's, coat-tails to treasure, the better
People who like___________ will like Scofflaw. Why? "playing a thief in Dungeons & Dragons"
What do you hope to accomplish at Protospiel-Milwaukee (and Mid-West Unpub)? Balancing 3- and 4-player games
Here's hoping you can steal a few moments at Protospiel-Milwaukee (and Mid-West Unpub) and try Scofflaw by Scott Starkey and Carl Klutzke!
