Unpub Preview: ADJitation

Unpub Previews are where we take a deeper look at some of the games in the network.ADJitation, designed by Bonnie Neubauer, is word game using dice...I mean cubes.  This is actually a game system with a basic tool that can be used for several games.

Let's hear a little more about ADJitation from Bonnie herself...

 What was your inspiration for  ADJitation? I am an author and I love words so it's only fitting that my game would be composed 100% of words.

What is your favorite part of ADJitation?  That it's different every time, the simplicity of the rules, and the creativity that comes from the players.

To your knowledge, What do other people find most interesting about ADJitation? Competing with others to come up with the most clever (and fitting) responses.

What has been the most challenging part of designing ADJitation? Choosing adjectives for the cubes. I seem to fall in love with each word and then can't bring myself to delete it when I realize it's too limiting of a word.

What advice would you give to players attempting ADJitation for the first time? Let the adjectives float through your mind and answers will come. Forcing your brain makes it too hard.

What has surprised you most in play-tests of ADJitation?  That the losers are most eager to play again and that people who don't like word games seem to love it.

People who like_____will like ADJitation. Why?   Word On the Street. Because its similar in that you start with words but move quickly into finding the best answers that come from the trivial knowledge part of your brain.

What do you hope to accomplish through the Unpub Network?? To get all sorts of feedback to fine-tune the rules. Then I plan to submit it for licensing.

Tell us anything else you want to say about ADJitation that I haven't asked or you haven't said already. - I am glad you didn't ask me if I usually win when I play this game, because I don't. I am better at games with letters, but I keep trying!
