Unpub Preview: Armor: Tactics!

As we move towards upcoming Unpub events we’re going to preview some of the games which will be exhibited.

Matt Puccio's Armor: Tactics! isn't the first game with an exclamation point in the title. It's not event the first games with tanks and an exclamation point. What it is, however, is a neat little game with miniature tanks. It's going to be exhibited at the Enchanted Grounds Unpub Mini on Saturday April 6 from 1pm to 7pm. 

Some of the ideas driving this design are very laudable. Let's hear Matt talk about them...

What was your inspiration for Armor: Tactics!?I enjoy casual miniatures games, and I also like WWII (especially tank) combat games.

What is your favorite part of Armor: Tactics!It's a miniatures game without having the paint and carry around cases of expensive minis!

To your knowledge, What do other people find most interesting about Armor: Tactics!It's very easy to pick up and learn, and enjoy that there aren't complicated combat charts or terrain/elevation rules.

What has been the most challenging part of designing Armor: Tactics!?Maintaining some level of historical accuracy without making the game overly complicated or unbalanced.

What advice would you give to players attempting Armor: Tactics! for the first time? Point your thickest armor towards your enemy!

What has surprised you most in play-tests of Armor: Tactics!I've had a lot of people who aren't into wargames per se, try it out and enjoy it.

What do you hope to accomplish at the Enchanted Grounds Unpub Mini on Saturday April 6, 2013 from 1pm to 7pm?I'm testing out some rules tweaks and tuning for balance, and hope to get input from a wider audience on the game mechanics.
